018.5 Should we blame the leader more than we should blame his/her followers if they do bad deeds? Good deeds?

Dear Quibbles,
Regarding this question, I have to say that the leader should be blamed, or given credit to, slightly more than his/ her followers. Often the followers are the ones to scared, or lazy to take action. Think of Lord Voldemort. Yes, it's all his followers and their cruelty that help him terrorize the wizard and muggle world, but once they think he's dead, they disappear and try to conform back into society. Most of his followers (the ones who aren't scared into following him) share the same beliefs as him, but don't have the willpower to go against the whole of the wizard world. However, Lord Voldemort couldn't do nearly as much damage without them. In addition, some of his followers do things just as bad as LV, and possibly more often. Hmm, I'm really not sure.

When it comes to leaders who complete good deeds, I still believe the leaders should get more credit, simply because they presumingly started the movement (or something like this). It's much harder to be a leader than a follower. Not being accepted in society is very scary to most people, therefore we often conform to others within society. Taking a stand risks potential social rejection, and as a very social species, this is very challenging.

Love always,
